It’s wild to think I’ve been moving with my ba

It’s wild to think I’ve been moving with my baby girl for nearly a year… 38 weeks in my belly and now 9 weeks by my side 🥹

{Keep in mind I didn’t start any workouts till I was 7 weeks postpartum and I’m still going to need pelvic floor therapy}

When it came to prenatal workouts, I was fortunate to have felt well enough to be able to exercise throughout my entire pregnancy and I truly believe it was the BEST thing I could have done!

Working out during pregnancy can help:

✨ reduce the risk of gestational diabetes and high blood pressure
✨ manage aches and pains
✨ reduce stress
✨ strengthen your baby’s heart
✨ boost your mood
✨ prepare your body for labor & delivery
✨ speed up recovery

Now that she is here, my hope is to lead by example and show her just how much joy there can be in working out and how many fun ways there are to practice self care & move our bodies! 💕

Our first family adventure was a success ❄️💕

Travel is something @bayphillips and I absolutely love and we are so excited to instill that same adventurous curiosity in our daughter. Obviously she won’t remember this snowy roadtrip but that doesn’t mean we won’t cherish these memories (and apply all our learnings to future trips with her this year ☺️).

PS: to my Colorado friends, this cozy A-frame airbnb is a short drive from Denver and I highly recommend! And if you’re traveling with a newborn, be sure to check with your pediatrician to ensure they’re ready to be at higher altitude 🏔️

These are a few that have made a very positive impact for me and that have worked for various seasons of my life

✨EAT COLORFULLY✨
I think it’s so important to focus on what you can “add” to a meal to make it more nourishing instead of focusing on restriction. One easy way to do that is to add more fruits and vegetables to each meal to make it more colorful & balanced 🥑🍎🍌🫐

✨MOVE FOR 30 MIN DAILY✨
I don’t workout every day but I do my best to squeeze in 30 minutes of intentional movement! Whether that be walking on my walking pad while in the office, playing with the pups in my backyard, doing some gentle stretches before bed, etc

✨ROMANTICIZE YOUR LIFE✨
This mindfulness tool is a way to see the beauty in the small, seemingly mundane moments of your day and to take the time to create your own little joys whenever you can. Whether that be watching the sunrise, hosting friends, taking a luxurious bath or having a candlelight dinner at home… there are so many ways to make every day moments more magical

✨PRIORITIZE GOOD SLEEP✨
Obviously this is a tough one for me currently as a new mom but let this be your reminder that choosing to sleep in on weekends or cancel a workout because your body needs extra rest does NOT make you lazy. You are not a machine and quality sleep is key for a healthier life

✨WRITE IN A JOURNAL✨
Whether you choose a guided piece like the 5 minute journal or a blank notebook of your own, there is power in recording your thoughts, writing out your ambitions and reflecting on what you’re grateful for

I have Galentine’s day on the mind and this iced strawberry milk matcha latte is such a perfect healthy treat for you or your girlfriends! 🍵

The key is to use ceremonial grade matcha (culinary grade tends to be super bitter). I’m using @ippodoteausa Nodoka matcha in this video and i love how fragrant it is. 🌿💕 It works especially well when combined with the strawberries! 🍓

Tips for making the perfect matcha:
✨ Always sift your matcha first to avoid clumps
✨ Pour 1/4 cup hot (not boiling) water over matcha
✨ Whisk in a “M” or “W” shape until fully combined and frothy layer appears on top
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I prefer my matcha unsweetened but in this case, I did add a little sugar to the strawberry to make the purée before adding in the plant based milk.
