Spring is the season of renewal, making it the perfect time to refresh your routines, connect with nature, and embrace new possibilities. As the days grow longer and the world around us begins to bloom, there’s an invitation to savor simple joys and nurture our well-being in fresh and exciting ways. This four-week Happy Girl Spring challenge is designed to help you embrace the season with intention, filling your days with joy, creativity, and connection—both with yourself and the world around you.

Week One: Refresh your routines
- Start the day with a brain dump: Before diving into your day, take a few minutes to write down everything on your mind—tasks, ideas, worries, or anything that feels cluttered. Getting it out on paper helps clear mental space so you can start the day with more focus and ease.
- Take a morning walk: With the weather warming up and the sun rising a little earlier each day, a morning walk is a perfect way to wake up your body and mind. Use this time to set an intention, listen to a favorite playlist, or simply enjoy a peaceful start to the day.
- Make time for play: Channel that playful spring energy to do something just for fun! Whether it’s roller skating, painting with watercolors, or revisiting a childhood hobby, give yourself permission to play without a goal or expectation.
- Eat al fresco: Take advantage of the warmer days to get a dose of vitamin D while you eat your meals.
- Organize a clothing swap with friends: Refresh your wardrobe for free by gathering friends for a clothing swap. It’s a fun way to clear out pieces you no longer wear while discovering new-to-you treasures!
- Try a new outdoor activity: As you come out from your winter hibernation, why not try a fresh way to move your body outside? Try roller skating, hiking a new trail, or paddleboarding!
- Swap some screen time for analog activities: Rethink how you spend your down time and consider taking a break from scrolling to reconnect with hands-on activities. Read a book, start a puzzle, write a letter to a friend, or pick up a new craft. You might discover that a screen-free activity leaves you feeling more relaxed and rejuvenated!

Week Two: Connect with nature
- Take a scenic bike ride: Find a new trail or ride through your neighborhood with fresh eyes, taking in the sights, sounds, and scents of spring.
- Dance in the rain: As cozy as it is to watch the rain from inside, it can be so freeing to let loose and fully embrace it! Get out and play in the April showers!
- Learn about your local wildflowers and go for a hike: This is a fun way to connect more deeply with the place where you live. Grab a field guide or use an app to spot and name blooms along your favorite trail. Take the time to look closely at each blossom and notice how different flowers thrive in different environments.
- Read in the park: Take your book outdoors and find a sunny patch of grass or a quiet bench to settle into. The fresh air, chirping birds, and warm sunshine add an extra layer of enjoyment to your reading time. It’s the perfect way to slow down and soak in the beauty of the season.
- Take a field trip to your local botanical gardens: This is one of my favorite spring activities! Put on a cute outfit and enjoy an afternoon wandering through the gardens and enjoying all of the sights and smells.
- Listen to the birds for a few minutes in the morning: Before diving into your day, step outside or open a window and simply listen. Tuning in to nature’s soundtrack is a small but powerful way to feel more present.
- Do an outdoor meditation: Take your meditation practice outside and let nature enhance the experience. Whether you sit by a tree, lie in the grass, or close your eyes by a lake, let the sounds of birds, rustling leaves, and the breeze become part of your mindfulness practice.

Week Three: Enjoy the bounty of the season
- Make a fruity dessert: Celebrate spring’s sweetest flavors by baking a berry crisp, making a strawberry cake, or whipping up a fresh fruit tart. Invite some friends over to enjoy a seasonal treat!
- Try a new fruit or vegetable: Farmers markets are overflowing with so many different varieties in the spring time, including some produce that are only around for a short time! Pick up a fruit or veggie you’ve never cooked with before, like ramps or loquats. Experimenting with seasonal flavors is a fun way to keep your meals exciting and nourishing.
- Make yourself a spring-inspired matcha or smoothie: This is such a simple way to add a seasonal twist to your mornings. Sip on a refreshing strawberry matcha latte or try one of the many spring smoothie recipes in my free smoothie e-book!
- Surprise a friend with fresh flowers: Help spread the joys of the season by picking up a bouquet on the way to your next coffee date. A simple gesture like this can brighten someone’s day in an instant (and yours!).
- Go to a u-pick farm to harvest your own spring produce or flowers: Visit a local farm where you can pick your own strawberries, tulips, or whatever is in season. There’s something so satisfying about gathering your own food or flowers straight from the source. It’s a fun, hands-on way to connect with nature and support local growers.
- Host a garden tea party: Set up a cozy outdoor gathering with floral teas, fresh fruit, and light spring snacks. Whether it’s a fancy afternoon affair or a casual meet-up with friends, enjoying a meal outside with good company makes any day feel a little more special. Don’t forget that you can find some hosting inspo over on my Pinterest!
- Go to the farmers market with a friend and have a picnic: Make a morning of it by browsing the market together, picking up fresh bread, cheese, and fruit, and heading to a nearby park for an impromptu picnic. There’s something magical about eating fresh, local food outdoors in the sunshine.

Week Four: Nurture & grow
- Plant an herb garden: Whether you have a big backyard or a sunny windowsill, planting fresh herbs is an easy way to bring a little more greenery into your life. Basil, mint, and rosemary are great beginner-friendly choices, and they make your meals taste even better! Watching something grow under your care is a beautiful reminder of patience and renewal.
- Choose a flower to represent your intention for the season: Pick a flower that symbolizes how you want to grow this spring—maybe tulips for resilience, daisies for joy, or lavender for calm. Let it serve as a visual reminder of your personal intentions. You can plant it, sketch it in your journal, or even buy a print of it for your space.
- DIY or paint a vase for your spring flowers: Get in touch with your creative side by decorating a vase to showcase your seasonal blooms. You can go to a pottery painting studio, try a fun at-home clay kit, or even repurpose an old jar with some ribbon or twine. It’ll make you smile every time you fill it with fresh flowers!
- Reach out to a new friend: Nurture a budding connection by reaching out to the new friend you made at yoga class, taking your new coworker out for coffee, or joining a local meetup. You never know where it might lead!
- Host a“flower potluck”: Invite friends to bring a small potted plant or a handful of flowers to swap, creating a fun and unique way to share the beauty of the season. You can each go home with a beautiful bouquet or a new plant arrangement! It’s a simple, joyful way to celebrate growth and connection.
- Start a daily“small joys” journal practice: Each day, write down one thing—big or small—that brought you joy. Maybe it’s a sunny morning, a kind interaction, or a delicious meal. This practice helps shift your focus to gratitude and reminds you to savor the little things.
- Pick a passion project or interest to nurture this spring: For many of us, spring brings a burst of energy and a sense of renewal. Channel that energy to commit to a project or dive into a new interest. Think of your project or curiosity like a garden to tend and cultivate.
