Healthy Girl Summer is BACK and better than ever! If you’ve been following me for awhile you may remember my #healthygirlsummer challenge from 2021. Not only was it a lot of fun but it served as the inspiration for my Mindful Morning Planner and several other wellness focused challenges to come.
This year’s challenge is all about focusing on building healthy habits through a unique focus each week. Summer time can be hectic with so many plans being made and my hope is that this challenge helps you turn the focus to yourself and your own wellbeing.
Think of it a as a mid-year reset (which btw is one of the ideas for week one)! The new year always kicks off strong with wellness goals but now that we’re at the half way mark it’s natural that some of those goals may have fallen by the wayside. This is your opportunity to reassess, evaluate what goals you wish to continue working towards and do things that will bring you joy in the process.
Let’s dive into the checklist for each week…

Week One:
Rest & reset
- Listen to a sound bath to sink into deep relaxation mode.
- Give yourself the gift of a screen-free day so that you can quiet some of the external noise and focus on reconnecting with yourself and the world around you.
- Do a candlelight yoga flow before bed to set yourself up for a good night’s sleep.
- Read 5 Tips for a Mid-Year Reset for the practices that help me reflect on the year so far and reconnect with my goals and intentions for the months ahead.
- Switch up your skincare routine for the warmer months ahead, maybe opting for lighter moisturizer or restocking on your favorite SPF.
- Try a mobility workout to improve your flexibility and joint health. Incorporating these types of gentle workouts into your routine can help you move more freely, reduce your risk of injury, and level up the quality of your other workouts.
- Resist looking at your phone for the first and last 30 minutes of your day and notice how this impacts how you feel.
Week Two:
Get outside and get moving
- Walk 10,000 steps in a day (or every day this week if you’re feeling up to it!).
- Go for a bike ride, whether you bike to work or take a leisurely ride along a local trail.
- Schedule an outdoor sweat sesh with your workout bestie so you can get fresh air, exercise, and social connection all in one go!
- Wear SPF daily.
- Go for a distraction-free walk during your lunch break and tune into your senses for an extra dose of mindfulness in your day.
- Refuel after a workout with a protein smoothie.
- Head to the beach, the lake, or a local pool and dive in! Taking a refreshing dip on a warm day is one of the greatest joys of the summer and a fun way to get some movement in!
Week Three:
Boost your confidence
- Wear your favorite outfit, whether it’s a flowy summer dress or your go-to pair of jeans that make you feel your best.
- Practice positive affirmations. (ICYMI, I recently added a digital Daily Affirmations poster to my Mindful Morning shop!)
- Try one of these Journal Prompts for Self Love
- Put on your song of the summer and dance it out! Letting loose and moving with joy is always a guaranteed mood booster.
- Get dressed up and take yourself out for a fun summer date because enjoying your own company is a great way to boost your confidence and treat yourself.
- Buy flowers for yourself to brighten up your space and your mood with a simple act of self love.
- Read Self Care Ideas for Every Love Language and give one a try this week.
Week Four:
Embrace the season
- Make a vision board for the summer so that you have a clear idea of how you want this season to feel.
- Eat dinner al fresco to make the most of the long days and the warm evenings.
- Treat yourself to your favorite summer treat.
- Plan a mini staycation because summer is all about having adventures, big and small. You don’t have to leave town to try something new or see the city where you live in a new light.
- Pick up a new summer read to take with you on your travels or for a leisurely afternoon spent reading in the park.
- Make your own summer bucket list.
- Go to the farmers market and enjoy the bounty of the season.
