Friday Favorites: Golden Matcha

Hi lovelies! It’s nearly been a whole month since I’ve taken the leap to become a full time blogger and boy does it feel amazing. I’ve been keeping very busy with brand projects, creating a new routine, consulting, and pouring my creative juices into building a plan for my brand. It’s definitely different than the 9-5 grind that I’m used to but I’m so thankful for every second of it.

My head has been spinning with ideas lately on what I want to share with you all. Like, I literally wake up at 3am sometimes with random thoughts that I then have to jot down into the notes section of my phone. I’m sure all you creative types can relate! The biggest hurdle that I’ve come across so far is having to remind myself to slow down. I guess I can thank my former agency life for the nagging feeling that I need to be doing more, more, more and fast, fast, fast — all the time. Bay kindly reminded me that I’m in this for the long haul so I’m taking that message to heart and giving myself time to really focus on what I want to do. Which brings me to this little roundup post!

Below, you’ll find a few of the things that I’ve grown really fond of these past few weeks. Some will most likely require follow up posts so keep an eye out if you’re craving a little more.

Golden Matcha Lattes

You’re probably tired of seeing these all over my IG story but hey, I clearly am really fond of my homemade matcha lattes. Not only has it helped me save a little cash but I love being able to control exactly what’s going into my morning matcha. And ever since Tenzo Tea sent me their matcha making bundle it’s been really easy. Right now, I go back and forth between adding a turmeric-collagen blend from Live 24K (hence the “golden” matcha) or adding maca powder, Vital Proteins collagen-peptides or an adaptogenic blend from Moodbeli.

DIY Flower Baths

There is nothing quite as therapeutic and relaxing as a bath. I’ll admit I’ve been a little “extra” with my baths lately. Dumping a cocktail of ingredients like coconut milk, epsom salts, essential oil and rose petals may seem a bit over the top but it’s my ultimate self-care treat. If you’re not the “do it yourself” kind of person, you can always invest in a few bath bombs! Lush is always my go-to for that sort of thing.

Clean & Cruelty Free Beauty Favs

Most of you know I’ve primarily shopped for cruelty-free beauty products for the past few years (with the exception of deodorant because I just can’t seem to find a natural one that works!). As of late, I’ve been introduced to a few new natural and/or cruelty-free beauty brands that I’m really loving! I highly recommend looking into Biossance and Acure if you’re venturing down the cleaner skincare path. My skincare regimen still primarily consists of Tula products but I’ve added some new brands for hair, skin and oral care that I’ll be sharing very soon!

Morning Meditation

I’ve been practicing meditation on and off for the past year but adding it to my daily routine this month has made an incredible difference. It’s such a calming way to greet each day and I’m slowly finding myself increasing the time I spend in each session. I personally love mantra meditation in a seated position, hands gently placed on my knees, accompanied with intentional Sama-Vritti (equal length) breathing.

You all know how much I love my pup, Nina. She’s made many cameo appearances on my Instagram and has even begun to work with a few brands! Shout out to Pet Plate for being the first. At this point it made so much sense to start an Instagram of her own… so if you aren’t already, go follow @LittleNinaBee (which is the nickname Bay and I call her every day).

Friday Favorites

This month I’ve had the opportunity to try out a few new fitness studios and I was very pleased with them all! If you’re in NYC and are looking for some new places to get your sweat on, be sure to try out: Shadowbox in Dumbo (boxing), Just Like Om in Flatiron (yoga), and East River Pilates in Williamsburg (pilates).

A little bts of my very first Mommy & Mini Garden Party I hosted in my backyard yesterday! 🦋🌼🍓

June is my FAV month of the year and this was such a sweet way to kick off the summer season ☀️. I’ve always loved hosting and having an excuse to create magical moments for my baby girl adds an extra layer of joy to it all

Tbh we had a rough week last week so having all the mama friends together and seeing them with their little ones was just what I needed to lift my spirits ☺️💕

I’m back with another round of #HealthyHabits th
I’m back with another round of #HealthyHabits that will change your life (scroll further down my feed to find pt 1 if you missed it). 

Building a stack of habits that change the way you feel mentally, emotionally, and physically for the better is one of the best things you can do for yourself 🥰

If you need some tips on how to get started, here are 5 habits to add to your repertoire:

1️⃣ Schedule alone time: carving out time alone is essential for your wellbeing (even if you’re an extrovert like me). Find ways to make your time feel more special like taking yourself on a solo date 

2️⃣ Clean your space: a clear space = a clear mind, and one of my favorite ways to do this is to allot 30 min each evening for a “closing shift” where you do dishes, tidy up and prep your space so that you can wake up to a clean house

3️⃣ Make time for hobbies: it’s too easy to get caught up in the productivity hustle but making time for things that are just for fun can be the BEST thing for your creativity and mental wellbeing 

4️⃣ Go for a walk: getting in the habit of going outside to get your steps in and breathe in the fresh air is such a great way to reset for the day. There are lots of fun ways to make your walks more interesting, whether you listen to a new podcast or make it a mindful color walk 

5️⃣ Practice presence: the act of noticing your surroundings and fully immersing yourself in the simple moments is a life long practice. If tuning in to yourself is challenging and you find your mind wandering, try slowing down and being intentional to not multi-task and instead focus on one thing at a time

I’m back for another edition to my #selfcaresessions series and this was the PERFECT mix of mindful movement and active recovery + your reminder to get outta the house and do something that makes you feel good! 💕

I haven’t used a yoga wheel in years so loved that the Flow class at @upswell_studio had us doing all kinds of juicy stretches and myofascial release with props 

The recovery combo of sauna + cold plunge + compression therapy is truly elite and so fun to do with a friend ☺️

Overall 10/10 would recommend and want to go back asap!

Lemme tell you, the way this blended pistachio mat
Lemme tell you, the way this blended pistachio matcha latte has a GRIP on me is unreal! ✨💕🍵 It’s sweet, nutty and super smooth — definitely the perfect summer drink for all the matcha girlies out there 

I don’t usually blend matcha in a blender but it works perfectly for this recipe

All you need are:
✨ 1 tsp ceremonial grade matcha 
✨ 1 heaping tbsp pistachio butter 
✨ 1 cup pistachio milk 
✨ (optional) 1 serving collagen peptides 

Blend until smooth and pour over ice 🫶🏼

It’s #nationalrescuedogday so of COURSE I had to show off my two cutie furbabies 🐾

Both came from rough backgrounds — Nina’s previous owner tried to throw her off a bridge in Florida and Chip comes from a massive dog hoarding case in Tennessee. They’ve both known nothing but love since entering our home years ago 🫶🏼

Nina has been doing yoga with me for 12 years  and as Chip is FINALLY starting to show more interest in getting involved 🥹

So here’s a little glimpse at our very short 15 min practice… which feels extra special because quality time is limited with a new baby around 💕

Finishing up 12 wonderful days in Florida and our very first beach vacation with our 5 month old ☀️🌊🌴 

It was so incredibly special to show Lily the beach where I grew up and spend time with lots of family and friends 🥹

We were really nervous about traveling with such a young baby but honestly it was so much more seamless than expected and I think it helped that we were a bit over prepared 😅 (yes I did pack her @babybrezza in our luggage and the @doonausa travel stroller 100% lives up to the hype lol) 

Other things we brought for her that made things easier and I highly recommend: 

✨ @uppababy pack and play (just check this as another piece of luggage) 
✨ @hatchforbabysleep rest and go sound machines 
✨ mini fan for stroller 
✨ @babymoov_usa baby tent for beach 
✨ over the door shoe organizer to hold/organize all baby clothes 
✨ a couple baby carriers (we love @mabecarriers @babytula and @wildbird) 
✨ @magicsleepsuit of course 
✨ @get_nanit baby monitor (packed in travel case) 

Of course you don’t need all/any of the above!! I’m just sharing what worked for us ☺️

Our mornings looked like some variation of what you see here with a few sunrise walks and coffee runs mixed in. And now it’s time to head back home with a luggage full of dirty laundry and a camera full of 10,000 pictures & videos 💕
