✨ Wanderlust: A strong desire to travel ✨

There’s something magical about the charming island that was just a short drive away from my former home in Florida. I don’t know if it’s the colorful pastel houses that line the shores… or the warm, salty air… or perhaps it’s the endless stretches of sugar sand beaches. Whatever it is, Anna Maria Island has always been my little slice of paradise.

During my latest trip back home, Bay and I frequented the island a few times. We ate breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants, went for a leisurely swim in the Gulf, and even decided to explore AMI’s neighbor, Longboat Key. It’s here where we came across the most dreamy setting of fallen, weathered trees that jutted in and out of the water. The trunks were all lovely shades of white and the root systems had been adorned with various shells – transforming them into beautiful works of art. In short, this “secret spot” was simply breathtaking.

Doing yoga on and alongside the driftwood was an enchanting moment. Unlike the public beaches nearby, the island was relatively deserted which made for an even more peaceful setting. There was nothing but the sound of the small waves and the cries of the few seagulls who splashed in and out of the water for their evening meals. I felt absolutely, 100% at peace with myself and while looking out at the setting sun, I felt my heart swell with gratitude.

Life is always changing – it’s seldom what we expect or plan for ourselves. We’re faced with the toughest of trials, humiliating moments, and experiences that make us question how God could be so cruel… but then we are also given joy. Moments of pure bliss and love which remind us how beautiful this life is. I read a quote the other day that said that at this exact moment we are the youngest we will ever be and the oldest we have ever been. We will never get this time back… it comes and goes faster than we can blink an eye and it’s up to us to make the most of each second we have in this world.

So get out there and pursue your dreams. Explore new places, challenge yourself, and love with every fiber of your being. Do everything with passion and with a thankful heart.

You only have one life to live, so make it everything you could ever hope for… and more.
