Is it just me, or are there never enough hours in the day to get things done? As someone who lives in the city that never sleeps, my days are spent going from yoga practice to the office, running errands, cooking (or ordering) dinner and working on the blog – all while trying to be an attentive girlfriend and fun friend. In other words, I’m pretty much like every other modern day woman out there.
Gone are the days of leisurely applying makeup at a chic vanity while casually sipping on a cup of coffee… (okay, okay, I don’t think I’ve ever had those days). Instead, I’m usually spraying copious amounts of dry shampoo in my hair and haphazardly applying makeup before running out the door. The struggle is real.
Thankfully it’s during these moments when I turn to some of my favorite cruelty-free beauty goodies that are simple to apply and absolutely AMAZING for girls on the go. The best part? They all conveniently fit in my handbag for easy access and quick touch ups throughout the day.
YUNI Beauty Shower Sheets
These bad boys are seriously incredible, especially when heading straight from yoga practice to the office. I was introduced to the brand while attending the Idea World Blogfest in L.A. (read about that here)and have fallen in love with their beauty line ever since. The shower sheets are infused with Neem Leaf Extract and Peppermint Essential Oil, which calms the skin, soothes inflammation and reduces bacterial activity. Plus they make you smell amazing. Just don’t use them as a replacement for an actual shower – you should probably still do that every day.
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo
I know what they say about diamonds, but let’s be honest… dry shampoo is really a girl’s best friend. 😉 For times when I’m in a pinch (or just don’t feel like washing my hair) I’m all about the Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. Trust me, I work for a beauty brand full time so I’ve tried plenty of dry shampoos – and this one leaves my hair voluminous and smelling super fresh. It’s formulated without parabens, talc, or aluminum and I love how soft it makes my hair.
Rosebud Perfume Co. Minted Rose Lip Balm
There’s a reason why this delicious balm is a cult favorite. I recently discovered it at my local Sephora and decided to give it a try after reading that you can apply it to lips, elbows and knees. It’s made up of a trade blend of essential oils that gives it a pleasant rosy, mint scent. It’s really great as a night treatment for super chapped lips, as well as a primer before applying any lipstick during the day!
Lalicious Sugar Tiare Flower Hand Cream
I received this in a swag bag once and instantly fell in L-O-V-E. It has found a primary home on my desk at the office, although I’ve been known to take it for a ride or two in my handbag during the winter months. The luxurious cream is made with milk thistle and mango butter, which help to keep hands extra soft and moisturized throughout the day. As someone who typically applies it in between typing on a computer, I’m thankful that it absorbs super quickly and doesn’t leave any greasy residue.
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer
A relatively new addition to my makeup bag, I couldn’t resist adding it to my list because it’s by far one of the best concealers I’ve ever used. It’s a little pricey but thankfully a little bit goes a very long way. I suffer from pretty bad hyperpigmentation (meaning my skin scars in various shades of red or purple) and this does just the trick to give me a flawless complexion. Oh and for my eco chic friends – it’s 100% vegan and paraben free.
I hope these products will add a little ease to your beauty routine! Until next time, keep on hustlin’. 😉
