It’s the beginning of a new week, which means it’s time for another dose of #MondayMotivation! Last week I spoke about creating a passion project, so this week I felt it was necessary to give a little shout out to a few of the inspiring yogis who helped me find mine.
It wasn’t long after I first began yoga back in 2014, that I discovered the beautiful, supportive yoga community on Instagram. There were so many fun yoga challenges hosted by various people each month that were not only designed to strengthen your yoga practice but also serve as a great way to connect with other like-minded individuals. I created my own yoga centric Insta account in order to participate in my first yoga challenge called #YogaToTheCore hosted by @BeachYogaGirl and@KinoYoga. I loved it so much I decided to join other challenges, which eventually led to my Instagram becoming a place where I could really share my growth, progress and other aspects of my journey.
Flash forward a few years later and I can’t say that I participate in monthly yoga challenges as much as I use to. It’s actually one of my goals to complete an entire challenge (since I never seemed to get quite to the end with any of the others 😔) . However, I do still look to several yoga lovers for daily inspiration and as motivation for me to continue my practice and eventually get my yoga instructor license.
If you’re in need of some serious yogspiration look no further than these 7 kickass, amazing ladies:
Laura Kasperzak of @Laurasykora
One of the first yogis I followed on Insta, Laura is one of the most real, fearless and coolest yoga instructors around. Not only are her yoga skills an incredible inspiration, she also posts photos doing yoga with her adorable “mini”, which always make me swoon. Like seriously, they are the cutest thing ever.
Elle of @Elle_Fit
Australian based law student, yoga teacher and entrepreneur, Elle has 3 guides to help people ‘Get Bendy’, ‘Get Split’ and ‘Get Inverted’. She also started an insta community account called @ElleFitActive where she regrams yogis who have used her guides and show their progress – and she’s always the first to be incredibly supportive to everyone who is beginning their yoga journey.
Stephanie Birch of @StephyNow
Super elegant and graceful, it’s not just Stephanie’s beautiful yoga poses that inspire, but also her raw and real words. Not to mention her soft lit photography is always incredibly dreamy and makes you wish you had a large living room with lots of natural light to practice in. If you’re ever in need of a healthy dose of self love, go read her posts. You won’t regret it.
Debby and Michelle of @YogoGirls
These ladies are two of the most creative yogis on Instagram and their posts are always SO fun! As cyclists, yogis AND professional photographers, they partner with other amazing individuals to produce a gallery of crazy cool #fitspo photos. Whether they’re cycling upside down or doing splits on the walls, you’re pretty much guaranteed some kind of shock and awe factor each time you view their page.
Summer Perez of @SummerPerez
So many words can describe the beauty that is Summer Perez, but the first one that comes to mind is flexible. Her artistic black and white photographs show off some of the most advanced yoga asanas out there, and many times feature her husband or adorable children. Her words are also always so uplifting and provide lots of heartfelt, beautiful quotes that are sure to make you feel wonderful.
Caitlin Turner of @GypsetGoddess
Talk about serious travel inspo – Caitlin’s photos look straight out of a storybook. This yogi jetsetter takes photos on top of mountains, in the middle of jungles, on lovely beaches and pretty much everywhere else you could imagine. Since she’s rarely in one place for too long her account acts not only as fitspiration but also has given me some great ideas for my travel bucket list.
Riva of @Riva_G_
Based in NYC, Riva posts an inspiring mixture of advanced yoga poses around the city, adorable flows with her dog, sunset silhouettes and yoga poses in killer heels. Basically everything I love in a nutshell. 🙂 Plus I like to think my dog Nina and her pup, Winnie, have a lot in common and would probably be best friends.
There are obviously so many more incredible women who inspire me on the daily and I’ll be sure to feature more on future posts.
Wishing you all a lovely week with lots of inspiration, motivation and maybe even a little perspiration. 😉
