Cruelty-Free Winter Beauty Roundup

cruelty-free winter beauty

Hi beauties! It’s the first day of December and with it brings the ever present reminder that winter is coming.❄️  This will be my second winter in NYC and I’m sort of dreading it. Being a Florida gal means that I thrive in endless sunshine, humidity and salty air… not frigid, below 10 degree, winter wastelands. Okay okay, I’m being a bit over dramatic. After all, there are plenty of things I do love about winter in the city! The stores are decorated in holiday splendor, the first snow is super magical, there’s ice-skating at Bryant Park, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller center and of course a general sense of Christmas cheer that blankets over all the city dwellers. Alright, so winter may not be that bad – but it does require some tweaks in my beauty regimen.

I’ll admit my makeup and skincare routine doesn’t drastically change from season to season. I have some of my die hard favorites that I stick to all year – but there are a few things I use more of to ensure my skin and hair don’t dry out in the harsh winter months. Below is a round up of some of my favorite cruelty-free beauty goodies that I’ve been loving lately. Hope you enjoy!

Becca Backlight Priming Filter – This primer is the perfect way to get your glow on! It extends the wear of your foundation and gives your skin a really nice “lit from within” look.

IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Mascara – Hands down one of my favorite mascaras. It’s a 5-in-1 multitasking natural mascara that acts as a lash volumizer, conditioning primer, black stain, an enhancing serum and lash curler/comb all in one.

Red Apple Lipstick Mint 2 Be Lipgloss – So I know matte lippies are all the rage but sometimes you can’t go wrong with a nice, clear gloss. I love that this one has a yummy mint taste and is never ever sticky.

Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation and Concealer – Okay, so I’ve tried some pretty expensive foundations in my day and was always so disappointed when they caused my skin to flake or disappeared after a few hours of wear. Literally nothing has worked as well on me as this one that I picked up at Walgreens. Best part? It’s only $9.99!

It Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner – This liner glides on so smooth and is easy to remove with an oil based eye makeup remover. I love that it’s inflused with skin-care goodies like collagen, silk proteins and Vitamins C and E!

NYX Pore Filler – Blame it on genetics but I have some seriously big pores on my T-zone. This pore filler works wonders for me and helps to smooth everything out before I apply foundation. It sadly doesn’t make all my big pores disappear but it gets pretty darn close – so I’ll take what I can get. hehe

nars blush orgasm

Nars Blush in Orgasm – I mean there’s a reason why this is a cult favorite. The color is super pretty, has a slight shimmer and is very easy to blend. I’m also a fan of Nars blush in the colors Torrid and Amour.

dipbrow pomade

Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade – I can’t say enough good things about this brow pomade. It’s incredibly long-lasting, waterproof, smudge-proof and, when applied correctly, looks incredibly natural! I never leave the house without using this on my brows.

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray – I first fell in love with finishing sprays when I started using Urban Decay’s All Nighter. Unfortunately, at $31 a pop, my wallet wasn’t too happy with me whenever it was time for a refill. I came across this one at Rite Aid and decided at $8 it was worth a try. Verdict? Works just as well as the $31 Urban Decay kind. Go figure.

Native Deodorant –  When the kind peeps at Native deodorant sent me two of their products to try out I was thrilled! I had been using Dove deodorant forever and had been looking for a cruelty-free alternative that worked. Most of the other all natural deodorants did nothing for me, but I honestly love the two I received from Native. They are long-lasting and smell sooo good. (I got Lavender/Rose and Coconut/Vanilla)

Lush Sleepy Lotion – This is a relatively new addition to my beauty arsenal and I’m wondering how I’ve lived so long without it. The lavender smell and creamy texture (from almond oil and cocoa butter) leaves your skin super, silky soft. No dry winter skin for me!

Frank Body Coconut Coffee Scrub – My fav way to buff away dry, flaky skin. This coffee scrub may leave a slight mess in your tub but the results are so worth it. I’ve tried both the original and coconut kind and give them a thumbs up!

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray – BEST DRY SHAMPOO EVER. Period. It’s actually half dry shampoo and half texturizer, so it soaks up the oils while also adding lots of volume. My only regret is that I bought such a tiny bottle from Birchbox…

Olaplex – I started using this after I dyed my hair rose gold back in October and it’s made such a difference in the look + feel of my hair! It’s a treatment that you use once a week to help repair the damage done from bleaching your hair – and whenever I use it my hair looks extra shiny and silky. Serious game changer.

I love trying new cruelty-free beauty goodies so if you have any recommendations please send me an email, DM or leave a comment below. I love hearing from you all!
