June is one of my absolute favorite months of the year. Between my birthday, the gorgeous weather, the vacation planning, and the buzzing fitness scene here in the city, what’s not to love?
Being a Florida girl at heart, and a total summer baby, I welcome the constant sunshine and humidity with open arms. It seriously puts an extra pep in my step and I find myself itching for an excuse to go outside any chance I get. My boyfriend, Bay, and I have been getting back to our summer routine of running through Brooklyn Bridge Park every weekend and ending with a small circuit workout focusing on arms and abs, and very light yoga sesh to stretch out our tired muscles. It’s kind of great because I hate running and he hates yoga… so we force each other to try things that we normally would never do on our own.
The heat + intense workout typically leave us in a puddle of sweat, so I’ve been extra careful to keep hydration top of mind as we get our fitness on. Thankfully my friends at Propel sent me a ton of their flavored electrolyte waters – which not only taste amazing but also replenish the electrolytes (like salt and potassium) lost when we sweat. You gotta try the peach flavor, it tastes just like peach iced tea!

I own 4 different yoga mats, 3 of which are the lightweight kinds that I can take to the studio or outdoors, but my favorite one is the Manduka Pro Mat which I use specifically for home practice. The new mermaid collection is my fav – but my summer go-to has definitely been the Pointe Leggings in Snow White. They’re super soft, breathable and most importantly… they’re not see-through. lol
I mean, you can’t expect to “move it, move it” without a booty shakin’ playlist! Lately I’ve been obsessed with The Chainsmokers and put their playlist on repeat during more intense yoga flows, but I’m also diggin’ the Propel Power Workout playlist for whenever I run.
